Are there exams every month at both IDP and British Council?
Indeed, every month, there will be at least two exam slots at both the British Council and also at IDP, and there can be more too.
IELTS exams at IDP and British Council
IDP is at Port Louis, in the capital city of Mauritius, whereas British Council is at Rose Hill, which is one of the most popular towns in Mauritius and is also well-connected with the metro network and other public transport.
It is an issue of choice, some who live in the North, for example, tend to go to IDP at Port Louis for their exams, whilst others who live in the Centre, West, East or South would also look at the British Council including its affiliated test centres which are mostly in the Plaines Wilhems region and Port Louis as well.
For IDP exams, kindly consult their online booking, they are very dynamic with test dates. They are on Edith Cavell Street at Port Louis, which is close to Champ de Mars, and other parking places nearby. Those who decide not to park there, normally go to United Docks for peace of mind or also use the Luna car park close to SME Mauritius.
IDP has numerous dates every fortnight for exams, and you would be nearly exhausted not to find a test date, if you are very picky. Other good test centres are with the British Council network of test centres.
For British Council exams, Online Booking allows you to plan, with dates for both General and Academic. Also, it not only shows British Council as a test centre but also affiliated test centres such as:
-ECCS at Allee Brillant whilst IELTS Foundation at Castel will prep you at intermediate/advanced level for the exams
-Ebene has two test centres – UOM Enterprise at UCLAN, the Core Building near MG car showroom, and you have to be on the 1st floor. The second one is, Apollo Blake, which is at Avenue de la Canelle at Ebene.
-At Port Louis, there is also Athena Business School on 12 Edith Cavell Street.
-At Rose Hill, they still do exams at British Council itself, parking could be an issue but it’s Rose Hill, and it should be ok. They are on the Royal Road itself..
